In 1901,Annie Edson, a 63-year-old woman down on her financial luck was the first person to go over Niagara Falls and survive. With her carefully designed barrel, her unadorned public persona, her homely figure and fatalistic attitude, Annie Edson Taylor became 'The Heroine Of Horseshoe Falls' (Today, knows as Niagara Falls) . Even though the stunt was a success, she was unable to realise the profits earned by earlier Niagara daredevils like Sam Patch, Charles Blondin and the Great Ferini.
